XMAS SUMMER - Catalogue

A few months ago, I got bored with my plain white ikea dishware set I'd used for years. So I went on a quest for more colorful plates that better fit my style. I moved heaven and earth (Pinterest) for days, until I layed eyes on this photo :

Instant favorite. I knew right away and without a doubt that I wanted these plates, and these plates only.

And so I went on a hunt for both the plates themselves and information about the collection.

As it turns out, these plates are part of a dishware set created as a collab between interior designer India Mahdavi and posh French supermarket chain Monoprix in 2017.

The collection was first shown to the press before being released in stores around November 22, 2017.

The only problem is, it flew off the shelves : Some angry facebook comments imply that some stores mistakenly put the items on the shelves one or two days earlier, which was enough time to have the collection be sold out in some stores before the official release day even came.

While such a craze might sound suprising for ... dishware, of all things, it's not out of the ordinary when you know a bit about India Mahdavi. She's a huge name in interior design, the kind of person whose brand usually sells 3000€ chairs. So when the queen blesses the common people with an affordable dishware set, her loyal subjects are not long in coming.

On this page I'm showing a list of the dishware items from the collection, with the best pictures I could find, alongside the original retail prices (whenever I have the info).

This list is purposefully missing items idgaf about (bowls, saucers, cups, mugs, and the non-dishware stuff). Someday I might fill the rest in.
